Modern Saint

I had gotten bored in class again and had recently began attempting to draw in a more realistic style... The girl's face came out the way I hoped, looking... not quite unhappy, but more melancholy and forlorn. I did not want to draw a girl who was conventionally pretty, but more "attractive in her own sad way." She has a charm to her and there is no real reason for her to be surrounded by the "halo"-- I just wanted to fill in the negative space with something nice. You can go ahead and read into all the little meanings behind why she looks the way she does or why those things surround her, 'cause I don't feel like typing it all out at the moment and I like hearing what other people interpret it as.
